All About Us
The NHI was conceived more than two years ago (2007). We have been building our training model to offer the most comprehensive, holistic approach to training based on research and technology. The NHI believes that research is the foundation to its success. Darryl Belfry has been a big proponent in video analysis and over the years has refined his ability to observe new techniques and break down these skills to be able to teach both the minor hockey player and the professional. The ability to work with world renowned strength and conditioning coach Andy O’Brien to better understand the theory of body movement and how it translates on the ice is exciting. The addition of Sandy Velenosi as the NHI skill development trainer is a great opportunity to further refine the skating stride and pass along this research to all players from 5 years old to the professional player.
